Overview
The Kick Switch consist of two main parts: the Kick Button assembly and the Control Box. The Kick Button assembly is installed in the kick board underneath the sink with the Air Tube connecting it to the Control Box. The Control Box is hung in the sink’s cabinet where the disposal’s power cord can reach the Control Box’s plug and the Control Box’s power cord can reach a power outlet.
Cabinet Preparation
1. On the kick board below the sink, mark on which side of the sink you want your Kick Switch to be.
We suggest choosing spot where you will not accidentally kick it while using your sink.
2. Mark at least 1 ⅛” (2.9 cm) from the floor. Make sure there is 1 ⅛” (2.9 cm) clearance from that mark and the top of your kickboard space.
3. Drill a 1 ¼” (3.2 cm) hole centered on your marks
4. Measure the distance from the front of the cabinet to the back of the under-cabinet space. Subtract ¼” (0.7 cm) from this measurement.
Caution: This will not always be the back of the inside-area of the cabinet.
5. On the inside of your cabinet, measure from the front of the cabinet the distance measured in the previous step. Make a mark at the end of this measure and approximately in the same line of the hole. This ensures that you will be able to see the air tube when you feed it through.
6. Drill a 3/8” (1 cm) hole on the mark.
7. Fit one end of the Air Tube to the bottom of the Control Box via the Compression Nut.
8. Feed about 2’ (60 cm) of air tube down the hole. Use a flashlight to locate the tube via the hole made in Step 3.
9. Use the provided Bailing Wire to carefully hook and pull the tube to the hole made in the kick board. Pull the tube through this hole.
Kick Button Installation
1. Slip the Fastening Plate onto the Kick Button and secure it with the provided Nut.
2. Fit the other end of the Air Tube onto the Kick Button Assembly via the Compression Nut.
3. Using the two painted screws, fasten the fastening plate to the baseboard. Make sure to level the plate before fastening it.
4. Fasten your Control Box to the inside of your sink’s cabinet.
5. Plug your garbage disposal into the Control Box, and your Control Box into the outlet in your cabinet. If the disposal turns on, simply kick The Kick Switch to turn it off.
6. Make sure your disposal switch is on and leave it on when you expect to use your Kick Switch.
